We visited Wat Langka with a lady from the Royal University of Phnom Penh just prior to this apart from the sweltering heat the tour was very interesting! We accidently walked into a funeral mind you, was a little awkward to say the least! But we learnt the stories of the Budda and his life, these are painted on the temple walls and ceilings, they look amazing and are in beautiful colours!
Anna and I in front of Wat Phnom, notice my beautiful pink scarf!
This is lady Penh, who Phnom Penh city was named after, she sits on Wat Phnom and looks over the city, people take flowers and gifts and money to her and pray for good luck. It involves kneeling on the ground clasping your hands at your chest and moving them to your forehead, then bowing to the ground 3 times repetitively.
Left to Right is Tony, our guide who's name I have forgotten, Sue (VSA co-ordinator) and Anna.
Anna and I in the Australia-Cambodian relations display, it was a beautiful display but full of tokenistic photos and pictures, 'Wow look how much Australia has done for Cambodia' good historical display however - not worth a second look though!
